Alvetex® is on its way to the International Space Station!
On Tuesday, April 14, 2015 ReproCELL’s Reinnervate Alvetex® cell culture scaffolds were launched into space on the SpaceX Dragon launch. This mission, which is set to dock with the International Space Station on Friday, April 17th includes the Osteo-4 study. This study, led by Dr. Paola Diveti-Pajevic at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, aims to measure the effects of low gravity on bone cells. Results of the Osteo-4 study will give scientists a better understanding about the potential bone loss suffered by astronauts on long space flights, as well as such earth-bound conditions as osteoporosis.
